What is the 10% rule?
Modified on: Fri, 29 Nov, 2024 at 12:07 PM
It is permissible in multi-parameter analysis (such as ICP metals, VOCs, PAHs, etc.) to have up to 10% of the parameters within the submission's associated Laboratory Control Sample (LCS), or Matrix Spike (MS) exceed acceptance limits by up to 10% absolute without corrective action.
For example, in a 32 element ICPMS scan with a +/-20% LCS acceptance criterion, up to 3 elements may have a LCS value up to +/-30%.
