What volume of water is required for eDNA analysis?

Modified on: Fri, 21 Dec, 2018 at 12:46 PM

The ideal volume required is 1L of water per sample which is to be filtered through a cellulose nitrate filter (45μm pore size).

This increases detection probabilities, however in some cases this volume may not be possible due to filter clogging. The minimum volume to be passed through the filter is 70ml.
