Waters
- Samples should be collected in wide mouth (HDPE) bottles fitted with an unlined (no Teflon) polypropylene screw cap.
- Please submit 2 x 250mL if possible (absolute minimum of 250 mL). Additional volume is required if MS/MSD is requested. (Additional 250mL per QC sample)
The sample hold time is 28 days with proper storage (1-6C, minimum exposure to light). or 90 days frozen. Drinking water samples remain at 14 days
If sample source is from a drinking water supply, containers should be Trizma preserved.
Soil and Tissue
- Samples should be collected in (HDPE) wide mouth bottles and fitted with an unlined (no Teflon) polypropylene screw cap.
- A minimum of 5 g of sample is required for soils.
- In the absence of regulated sample hold time, Bureau Veritas Laboratories adheres to a 90 day hold time for solids with proper storage (1-6C, minimum exposure to light).
All containers intended for use for PFAS sample collection require batch proofing due to the ubiquitous nature of PFAS compounds in many modern materials. Similarly with any water used for blank preparation. Shelf life of sampling containers kept in PFAS free storage is up to 12 months.
