If I don't have syringes / terracores / filters, how will it affect the analysis?

Syringes and terracores are pre-calibrated to allow approximately 5-6g of soil per vial. Any less, this may result in higher detection limits (DLs) because of the required ratio of methanol to soil; any more, and additional methanol may need to be added.

Water filters are required for certain inorganic parameters that require filtration and preservation in the field. For some inorganic parameters, filtration can also be performed at the laboratory (such as for metals) as quickly as possible following submission, as long as the appropriate alternative containers have been received.  Filtration typical determines if the target parameters to be analysed are on a total or dissolved basis.  Confirm what your project quality objects or relevant comparison criteria requires.

Filters may also be provided by the laboratory, although please note that these are not the same type of large capacity filters typically used with field sampling equipment (such as Waterra filters), but rather small filters that can be attached to syringes.
