Many of our sampling containers contain a small amount of liquid, powder or tablets. These are sample preservatives.
The target compounds you are looking to analyze may be susceptible to change due to volatilization, pH fluctuations or bio-degradation. The addition of sample preservative stabilizes the sample so that analysis is most representative of the chemical make up at the time of sampling.
Use caution when handling filling sample containers as some of preservatives are acidic and/or corrosive and may cause irritation if contacted. Use of latex or nitrile gloves is strongly recommended.
Please ensure the preservative is not lost due to overfilling the container or rinsing the container with sample prior to filling..
