Using alternative supplier's containers for sampling

Modified on: Fri, 8 Apr, 2022 at 1:09 PM

When faced with a sampling event where you do not have containers readily available from the laboratory to which you will be submitting your samples, alternative supplier containers are sometimes used.

At the time of sample receipt of non-Bureau Veritas containers, a sample observation note is made regarding the source of the containers.  This is included to alert any data reviewer that the containers used can not be ruled out as a source of any result anomalies.

Containers supplied by Bureau Veritas go through a rigorous proofing and certification process to ensure no target analytes are present prior to being provided to customers to ensure that the container itself is not a source of detected target analytes.

Results for target analytes submitted in non-Bureau Veritas or incorrect containers, or with improper preservation may not be representative of the concentrations of the point in time at which the samples were taken.
